So I took a pretty good break from making knives for personal (family) reasons...about 3 years, lol, but now I just got back into it. I just felt the urge to make knives again and this time I plan on sticking with it. Anyways, this is a new one I just finished the other day which I made as a gift for a friend. This is my first attempt at a tanto style blade. I am not entirely sure how some of you get the angular look of the bevels on the tanto tip to look so crisp, so I just went with a thin convex grind all the way. Got any pointers on doing tanto style blades? I got another friend that wants me to make one. It is 1/4" 1080 so it took a fair bit of work on my 2x48" grinder. Sorry, my makers mark is on the wrong side of the picture. LOL. The blade is 8" long with Gabon ebony scales and nickel silver pins.
