Been working on this knife with a buddy and like any project, it turned into a lot more work than expected.

After lots of trial and error (lots of errors) I am pretty happy how it turned out.

Nice. What exactly did you do to this knife? Pattern weld the steel yourself? Or did you just do the chemical etching to someone else's pattern welded steel to bring out the pattern?
 
This was an existing knife that I wasn't happy with. Too many sharp angles. My friend did lots of file work to round it out and fit the hand better. Once it fit and felt perfect it had lost most of its definition and beauty. So I worked at learning how to etch it. Many attempts that didn't turn out so well. I am happy with the final version. I didn't capture any of the failures.
