Last week I lost my BK11 for an afternoon, and found it later in a parking lot.
I was ecstatic to have it back, but the custom wood scales I made for it were messed up since it apparently got run over by a car, or truck.
The blade on the other hand was fine.

Before:

And after:

So I ordered a little camo G10 to try my hand at something a bit more durable.
I rushed a little making the scales since my shop was full of mosquito, and despite being covered in bug spay they were still getting on my nerves.
They didn't come out perfect, but I'm still satisfied, besides I still have enough left to make another set.

(shown with my little Bersa Thunder)

I'm thinking about some full handle scales for my BK14 Eskabar with the left over G10 to replace my micarta Izula scales next.

I'll get some better pics of the new scales outside tomorrow since the pic I took doesn't do it justice.
I definitely think I like the new scales better than the old wooden ones.

That looks really nice. I dig the wood scales and the jimping. Congrats on recovering your knife.

Nice work! Those look great. G10 is fun to texture with a dremel too. You can get a little more character.

Thanks. I wish I tried this sooner.
I think I might make a matching fire steel to go with it.
Working with G10 isn't too much harder than working with wood.

I used a dust mask, and I even kept my breathing to a minimum since my safety glasses would fog up every time I exhaled.:p

Lady luck smiled on you when you found you knife. Your scales look very good, show the others when you complete them.

Thanks.
Most of the imperfections aren't very noticeable, and could be fixed with a little sanding.
The other mistakes are still minor but I know they're there.
For example, I counter-sunk the holes a little deeper on one scale than the other.

I guess I'm just very critical of my own work.:(
I appreciate all the compliments though.:D

Thanks.
I took the off last night and cleaned them up a bit more with some light sanding.
I also countersunk the holes a little deeper to match the other scale.
So now it's feeling more like a set of scales that I would pay money for.
