My first attempt at G10 scales

Keep up the good work. I just posted in another thread about where my first set of handle scales for a BK11 took me, and it's been a heck of a journey. Hopefully you'll find some of the same inspiration that I did.

Seriously nice job. I like the first photo of the scales - you can take the man out of Massachusetts, but you can't take Massachusetts out of the man.

Thanks.
I had to go look that post up.
Awesome work.
I've been trying to get around to making a knife.
I came up with a simple design, and got a few 3/16'' thick industrial planer blades from my neighbor.
I annealed one of the blades and got it soft enough to work with (got some 3rd degree burns in the process), then I got side tracked and the project has been sitting in my garage for about 3 months.

On a side note, I traced out the shape of the 14 handle and it's just slightly too big to make from the piece of G10 I have left.
I could make smaller half scales like on the Izula, but that would defeat the purpose since I already have some Izula scales on it now.

Guess I'll have to order some more G10 if I want those scales.

The piece I have left is also kind of big to waste on a firesteel handle.
I'll just save it for now till I find a use for it.

Ha ha, thanks.
Just because I moved to Minnesota doesn't mean I'll ever be a Vikings fan.
I don't look good in purple anyways.:(

Go Pats!!!!
