My First Attempt at the 'Survival Bracelet'.

hey everyone im new and this is my first post on this board.
i have never heard of or seen a Survival Bracelet before and i was just wondering what the point of them is? is it just a way to bring cord with you and when you need it just unrap it?

Yup, that and the brass cahones fashion statement  h The raio comes out to about 12:1, so a 7" bacelet has about 7 feet of line and 8 times that if you gut the line and use the strands plus the outer sheath. I've made hatbands and a bunch of lanyards using the same knots.

It is a good way to carry a length of paracord with you. As far as using it in various situations, a paracord bracelet could provide a useable length of paracord of probably 8 to 10 feet of paracord and even more if you remove the inner strands. It probably wouldn't work for use as a snare as human scent on the paracord would scare off wild animals(Ranger Rick informed me of this), but other utility uses of the paracord would still be applicable.

I have been working on a few other things with my Paracord as well.

Multi colored bracelets
Snakeknot fobs and lanyards
Monkey Fist bookmarks.

Essentially I have been ripping off Stormdrane's weblog wholesale. I really can't thank you and Erik enough - you guys are so forthcoming with information, help, and links that it has made this a joy to learn as opposed to a struggle.

I am having a good time and making cool stuff for mu buddies and I.

I made a tutorial for a paracord watchband using the alternate half-hitch. You can leave off the watch if you just want a paracord bracelet, or make it larger for a dog/cat collar, maybe even a hatband. :)

I am REALLY happy you did that. I could NOT figure that one out.

I would LOVE one on the Monkey Fist knots you tie for bookmarks and other things. hint hint. ;)

Thanks for all the help so far.
