The mailman came today while I was out but he delivered the parcel to my staff. I am happy that the 'hard use' knife is here. The box was crushed on one end but everything inside is good.

The BK2 is everything I expected except for the poor factory grind. No big deal, as I sharpened it up after a couple of hours of reprofiling and finish off with stropping. The knife is razor sharp now and I will post some photos tomorrow. :D

Congratulations on the great purchase. I'm still waiting anxiously for my BK2 that is somewhere between MyWifeThinksImCrazy and me. Probably chillin' with the lazy german customs guys now. I'm hoping for a letter from them every day that I can come, pay my tax and pick it up.

Congrats on the new blade. What was wrong with the factory grind? Just curious. Mine was delivered razor sharp.

Mine was plenty sharp out of the box. I would be curious if you had a bad grind or if the coating made it look uneven. There have been cases of both happening.

You're going to enjoy the BK2, it is substantial.

Guess we all have different definitions of "sharp". Does a BK2 have to be able to push-cut toilet paper? For someone, the answer might just be "yes".

Allow me to offer my grudging and jealous congratualtions. Geez, it's been two weeks since I ordered my BK-2... I feel like a barren woman standing in the park, watching the children run and laugh and play... so full of life and light... dreaming darkly of snatching one fo' hersef...

I think they should draw cut paper. After I sharpen them, they should push cut paper. I don't think I have ever had a need to cut toilet paper, so, push cutting TP is not high on my list of knife requirements.:D

I like'em sharp, but don't spend much effort into getting them .... Ok, yeah I do, I spend time and effort into making them scalpels for surgery. I tend to keep them that way, but I have never push cut TP, I swear. :D

DUDE! Great pictures, thank you so much! I'm still waiting for my BK2, customs take forever.

Great pics ! Thanks.

See why you would want a BK 2.

I'll bet the 9 and the 5 would serve you well there too ;)

Congrats again on your new blade and keep the pics coming - we love pics.

Maethor, it is worth the wait. The BK2 is really a nice knife.

That's nice. I found mine uneven but nothing major. A little sharpening is all that is needed.

Thanks! I dont think this knife will fail in my lifetime. :)

Moose, I think Adam and you probably convinced me that the BK2 is 'must have' knife. Been lurking a while. Cheers!

Thanks Cobra, glad you like the photos. I will post more when I get the chance to shoot the BK2 on my future expeditions.

Wow - that's how to take a picture right there. Nice work!

Thank you sir for your kind words.

Looks like A nice place to be. The bk2 will fit in good.

Yes, although many part of Borneo is still unexplored, it is also diminishing rapidly due to 'development'. I try to capture as much of it in my travels.

Amazing pictures ! How difficult is it to spot Orangutans in natural Habitat ?

I think the knife should hold up well in the exotic locales you seem to frequent. Looks like some great scenery!

Just got my first becker as well..BK2. The grind was good enough for me, although I'm looking forward to changing out the scales and possibly a different sheath. Can't wait to put it to good use this weekend if it ever stops raining!

Pics are great by the way.
