Hey Beckerheads! Today is a very exciting day for me. I just got my first Becker Knife in the mail today and I'm super stoked. I got a BK24 and this thing is beautiful. I opted for the zytel handle scales. I'm not sure which color to go with so I'm starting with the black. Ive been carrying smal fixed blades for work and I think I've found the one. I mainly cut open boxes and straps with the occasional cardboard tear down. This one will eventually get a nice lefty leather sheath but for now I've done some paracord magic to hold it to my belt.

Hear is the back side and the blade out. I've already reprofile the edge to a tad below 30 inclusive. I used a 400grit belt on my 1x30 belt sander. Then I followed up with a king 1000, king 6000, Chinese natural 12k and finished with a CrOx loaded strop followed by bare leather. She is now screaming sharp. I just had to share my happiness with someone. :)

Welcome, and congratulations. The BK24 is a great knife. That's what rides in my Becker bag on road trips.

Love mine too. Started with black scales but switched to Orange shortly after and went with SS nuts and bolts. Added a leather lanyard to improve grip. Not usually a lanyard guy but the leather adds some grip when pulling it out of my Azwelke Kydex sheath and in general. image.jpg

I received my first Becker today also. A 15......I want one of those you got also!! :D

Very nice! That edge looks every bit as sharp! Let us know how well it holds up.

The 24 was my first too. And the zytel handles fit the hand so well.
And the 15 was my second. ;)

She's sharp. It'll whittle hairs. I'll definitely report back on how well it holds up. I've heard good things about D2

Good choice. The 24 was my first too. The new edge looks great. I went with Izula scales right off the bat.

If you want to upgrade the sheath hit up member Azwelke. That's who made the kydex camo one here. It's my favorite sheath I have.

You put a patina on it yet?
*ducks incoming flames*
Congrats on a great piece of steel!

I was thinking about a month long vinegar soak :)

So after the first day of work, I'm still a happy camper. The screaming sharp edge drops of fairly quickly but a quick stropping brings it right back. This thing pretty much glides through cardboard. I put the orange scales on it last night and I like those too. I'm working on a nice lefty leather sheath at the moment. I don't really care for the plastic one. It rides a little high on my belt and I just prefer the look and feel of leather. I'll post some pics up when I'm done. Happy New Year everyone!

Here is a little teaser shot of the sheath. It's glued up. I think me and the wife are going to hit up Tandy and see if I can get some tooling stamps. This one may get a little fancy

One of if not my favorite EDC blades, definatly my favorite fixed EDC. Im going to have to get a second one cause im having a custom dangler piggy back sheath made for mine with the BK9.
here is mine with the blue black TKC G10 scales

And a family pic

That is a great family picture.
Thank you. Only ones missing are the 13 in the bk7 sheath and my kitchen stripped 15 with dyed black micarta scales.
Just need me a 21 Reinhardt and I really want one of the Becker/Ritter BK12 to round out the family. I just love the spear point on the 12.

Those are some pretty blades and handles! I'm a little jealous. My buddy gave me an old shotgun stock made out of walnut that I've been contemplating making some handles for my 24.

So Tandy Leather was closed today but hobby lobby had some basket weave stamps fairly cheap. This is my first attempt at tooling but overall I'm happy with the outcome. Now I've got to put a little paracord lanyard on so I can get the knife unsheathed easier. Hope you likey

Nice work with the stamping. I never tried it myself but I may have to give it a second look. I have hit up Tandy and Hobby Lobby quite a few times too. I'm lucky to have both within 15 minutes travel time. I may have to take a second look at stamping.

I like the look of plain leather too but I also like to have the option of some embellishment.

Being left handed has made it neccessary for me to learn a little leather craft. It's cheaper and more satisfying to make your own sheaths. Now I have a drawer full of empty right sheaths. :)

I really like this knife. I've gone back with the black scales but I enlarged the lanyard hole a little. I'm going to make it the same size as the hole in the tang when I get back to work on Monday. My dremel tool is at the shop. I think a pocket sheat may be in order for this guy
