I walked into a knife store today and walked out with 2 benchmades. A 710, black, D2. and Persidio fixed blade, serrated and serrated on the top swedge. all I have to say is HOLY SH&%!!! The knives are awesome. The Persidio is the sickest production fixed fighter I've ever seen. and the sheath rocks. It's the best nylon combat type sheath I've ever seen come with a production knife. And then we have the 710. I can't write much about it now, cuz I have to go to bed, but let me just say THANK YOU EVERYONE!!! There are literaly thousands of posts on here with people recomending and praising the 710. And they are all absolutely right on. Listen newbies!!! Pay attention to what you read on here!!! These guys know what they're talking about.  :D :D :D

Good score on two favorite BM's (my favs, anyway)

You'll enjoy both, especially that 710

I don't have the fixed presidio but I do own the 710 and it rocks!
I went through a bunch of knives before I bought the 710
and it is dead on perfect in so many ways. :)
It may be the last big folder I buy for EDC.... oh wait BM
just came out with a large Bob Lum designed folder... crap I lied! :D

The 710 is one of my favorite folders ever made, and is my large EDC. Do you have any pics of the FB Presidio?

Gotta love the 710. Not my favorite knife look wise, but I love the way it handles, carries, functions, etc. To really enjoy it you should give it a good treatment with Militec-1 and practice flipping it open and closed by working the AXIS lock. Pull back on the lock bar, flip to open and release the lock bar before the knife is fully open to catch it and lock it into place. If you hold back the whole time the blade will open and want to bounce back closed. The same goes for flipping it closed.

Could you tell me were you got the 710bk. I can,t seem to find a 710bk enywhere. I would love to buy a 710D2 with a black plain blade.

That Presidio is a SOLID hefty piece of steel (nice alum acales too :)) And I agree with you on the sheath....beautiful job by BM. You done good!

I got them at a local sportin goods store. kind of a gunshop and archery/hunting shop. They weren't much more than online. Well under the MSRP, but not quite as low as good knife sites sell them for. It was worth it to pay alittle more cuz I could handle them first. and walk out with them. That poor clerk. I had him pull every one of each in stock while I analyzed them for about an hour and a half to find the most perfect one of each. Gotta do what ya gotta do. You guys know how it is. There where customers there and I was checking a 710 out in each hand, and looking at them in the light in different angles, then trying the next 2, then the next. Ha ha. In retrospect, I must have seemed alittle ''off'' to everyone. But I'm not playing games with my Benchmades. I'm not gonna settle. I'm gonna get the perfect one every time, no matter how long it takes.
