Hi guys,

Here is my very first knife.

OAL: 24cm (10" app.)
Blade: 11cm (4.5" app.)
Steel: 154CM
Hardness: 61 Rc
Handle: Brown Mallee Burl
Bolsters: Nickel Silver
Pins: Mosaic handle/416 ss bolsters

The sheath was made by my bro. in law but we both designed it. It is a horizontal carry and is bloody sturdy! It bent the needle on the leather sewing machine so he had to hand stitch it.

Next time I may use stainless for the bolsters or nickel for the pins to make them less visible. Id also like to add a thong hole and use thicker bolsters.

I did have one small mishap when I soldered the bolsters and the mosaic pins started "bleeding" out. I shoulda put the bolsters on first; ill know for next time anyways.

All in all im pretty pleased with the effort though. What do you guys think?

Cheers.

very nice, what kind of equipment do you have?

Hey dude,

I used a bench grinder, files and sandpaper. The grinder could do with an upgrade though; its a little 6" with a 4" contact wheel. That way I can hollow grind my next one.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

i like it and it looks like the handle would fit the hand great
and i love the burl
very impressive first effort
