My first blade with a guard

I recently had a gentleman contact me requesting a blade with a guard. He was very specific in what he wanted, which made it easier for me. I was confident I could do a good job on it or else I wouldn't have taken on the project, even though it is my first. I had a couple small hang ups (when I first machined the slot, it was about .010" too big, so I could see a small gap on either side of the blade. seeing some of the work on this forum made me feel this was completely unacceptable, So I tig welded in some filler and filed it back out to make a nice snug fit). So here it is. The blade is CPM 3V, 6" long, 1/4" thick, heat treated by Peters to RC 60-61. G10 scales, and the guard is titanium, with 2 1/8" titanium pins holding it in place and tig welded in. Please let me know what you guys think.

Very nice knife. Really looks functional with nice fit and finish. Very old/new etc which I always like...

And BTW, if they can't see the repair (tig welded guard) don't tell em about it... j/k...

Cheers.

Good job. It appears that the guard has been soldered? Has it also been pinned?
