My first bowie... complete

Thanks gents , your comments are appreciated. :)

I'll be trying a clip point bowie in the next month or so, i'll be sure to post it up here :)

Thanks :)

Not sure how many knives i've made now. I've been making bushcraft type knives for about 3 years, just basic things really. This year i have made a Bayley S4 type knife, a couple of kitchen knives and this one. I'm expanding what i do this year, going more down the custom route. This was just a practice piece more than anything. :)

I don't feel bushcraft knives offer the scope for creativity that knives like bowies etc will do and i want that room to be creative.

My website here... Though its not been updated in a while. :)

It's kind of hard to see in your photos, but it looks like you have sharp corners at the tang ricasso transition. If so, the transition should be radiused to elminate those stress risers.

This is from another thread, I hope it's ok to post it:

Otherwise, the knife looks great...I really like the faceted look especially on the guard.

Thanks for that mate.:)

Yeah they were at right angles, i was advised against that on another forum too. :) It was my first effort at a stick tang so its taken on board for next time. This knife will live in a cabinet, so its not a problem for this particular one :)

Appreciate the pic. :)
