My First Bowie WIP

I am down to the final finishing on my first bowie. I have a fair bit of finish work to do yet, but the overall look and feel is better than I hoped. It is O1 steel, 17" OAL, 11.5" blade. Handle is Brazilian Tigerwood/Black Walnut/Hard Maple laminate. I normally would have finished each part separate, but I wanted it together for My brother for his B-day yesterday. I couldn't finish it due to some unexpected delays, so hopefully I'll have time this week to have it completed by Saturday.

I have been woodworking since I was about 12 years old as a hobby. I make my own furniture, did a dining table for my wife for Christmas a few years back, made her a bed this winter. This handle needs 5 or 6 more days of oiling and polishing before its done. I have built electric and acoustic guitars. Its like meditation for me.
