Nice work!! Hamon looks outstanding. Did I miss the steel type. 1095, 5160?

I think the lighter color would look good with the darker blade but I like the darker wood! Make it a surprise Bill, Im sure both would look fantastic.

Wow, I guess I really never knew all of the effort that went into blade making...please forive my ignorance. That is going to be great knife. Thanks for the pictorial! I can't wait to see the finished product!

I just checked this one out again. And again. I love seeing the process that goes into knifemaking.
 
Now that was really cool! Very interesting to see the process involved in these things. I only ever see and use finished objects, I guess I forget that there is a big pile of work and knowledge and experience to get a knife to me.
