and you could not wipe this grin off my face. Its pretty incredibly awesome -- black blade on black magnum canvas handles. I already started chopping with it, I chopped an inline skate frame nearly in half which is made of pretty durable plastic.

One thing though - I did think it would be sharper. It's sorta sharp, but not razor sharp like I expected. All good though I am pleased.

Good job! now all we need is pics.

To make it sharper just run it a few times on a strop and it should be sharp.

My FBM was dissapointingly dull when I got it, too. It sharpened up very quickly just using a fine DMT bench stone. Then I did the sandpaper/mousepad convex edge thing and made it butterknife dull again, until I stropped it barber shop style using an old leather belt loaded with some "flexcut gold". The edge really woke up after the belt stropping. Edge is nice and mirror polished and slices everything it touches, fingers included. Still won't shave hairly cleanly or easily though.

From my experiences, busse's tend to come with a convexed edge that is of a pretty obtuse nature, but is EXTREMELY well polished right at the very cutting edge. The result being a very strong sturdy edge that can take a lot of abuse that can shave hair all day long, but cant really slice and cut as easily as it could if it the edge was set at a more acute angle.

Awesome! Congrats! Don't worry about a razors edge. You won't be using it for brain surgery! You'll be able to hack through just about anything else with relative ease!

I'm looking at getting one soon as well... I'm glad your pleased with it.. puts buckets of confidence in me! :)

Any pics?? ;)
