My first Busse

I just received my first busse in the mail today, bought from a forum member whose handle I can’t remember (sorry Will); it’s only a combat grade BB13, so no fancy g-10 or shiny polished infi (the beauty of the coating<it actually looks like moss!> makes me wonder why anyone would strip it, unless they had ten or so). It was raining today and cold so I didn’t get to chop anything, (just some cardboard destruction) and some shaving but I feel like 40% of my knife collection (the large ones) are dead weight. I want to know what all of these endless letters denoting a particular knife mean, my infi-cabulary is limited to “battle mistress” “mother of all Bowie’s,” and a few others. Expensive but worth every dime is how I feel about my first infi blade, but with hundreds of others, some 3x’s the price, I feel like an addict taking the first drink or pill or whatever. I don’t want to try sr-101 or sr-77, I just want infi and is that wrong? Anyway, thanks for listening

Why have sirloin when you can have ribeye?
Of course, that would be the best sirloin you ever had lol...
But no, nothing wrong with that. INFI is the best.
Big Congratz on your first Busse!!

outstanding first Busse. I have several 101 blades. the only one that stills sees use is a rodent 9. Otherwise, its infi. cannot blame you.

I was once there where you are just a couple years ago..didn't see myself spending the well deserved money on INFI......glad I took the route I did.
INFI earns more love when used....HARD
And by that, I mean beat the living crap out of it, baton anything, cut through unobtainium, ect....you get my point. Now all I want is more.....and then more. You are in the right place man.....just let it sink in, sleep with it, make it your own......then you'll see.

Grats on the first one! I took baby steps too getting acclimated with battle grade but it goes quick, start taking lots of small steps :D - You'll go from a couple to a dozen in no time :thumbsup:

Thanks! Every time I pick it up I can’t put it down for at least 5 minutes. I’m waiting for it’s sheath before I sleep with it as I have an air mattress, but it’s on the nightstand. If it’s nice tomorrow I’m gonna watch it sail through saplings on the trail by my house, til now using a bk9 or rtack2 or tramontina!

I felt that way. Once you handle Sr 101 you will understand the quality of that steel. It's like which is better scotch or bourbon? Both are great, one may be more expensive but they each have unique characteristics. If there was no INFI you would feel the same about sr101 as you do INFI now.

That's a fine blade you got there Yonose, in Infi or SR101! I have plenty of SR Rats and a handful of BattleGrades and they perform great-- also moss green is a favorite of mine for a coating option. Now, proceed to chop everything in sight:D

I love my R9. It just feels right. I love how the handle gives me a pivot point while I chop.

INFI's stain resistance is really nice but there's no shame in SR101's game. I love that stuff.

BB13 , Basic Bolo 13. Is a beast of a chopper, congrats. INFI is best, sr101 is great but the best thing is that they all carry the unbeatable Busse Warranty.

CG BB13 is a monster chopper—in your case a Green Monster!:D

Enjoy that beast!:thumbsup::cool:
Thanks! I honestly couldn’t remember if your handle was the same as your name and when I go back to look I often lose whatever I’ve started. The pattern by the edge without direct light looks just like a patch of fresh green moss! Handles like a chopper should. I hope they open up soon with enough numbers for me to score something thick in infi I’ll have to try that ak47 which, for some reason, only comes in sr101 As F’lar said, the warranty makes it worth checking out
