My first Busse

I think I should keep it....It's like a "I'm instantly in the cool croud" card....lol. I have actually had 3 really good days at the Gunshow over the last 7 years.....and my wife asks why I go and sit there once a month for the whole weekend....I showed her the knife when I got home by the way, and she said "WOW, cool....could you change your daughters diaper ass*#$@.
I can tell you about the other 2...A 1976 Jefferson Spivey in case for $250...I traded it for ALOT more than that to a collector in OK+he sent me a new Spivey that is alot of fun to beat on. And an AR15 Bushmaster carbine for a SIG 9mm(used/standard p226)....on this one, I just said....uhh..OK, and looked at my friend who smiled at me like he wanted to poke out my eyes grab the Bushy and run. Not THAt good of a trade...but I thought it was a good one! Gene

Great find! I have never seen a Busse of any kind for any price at any gun show, and I go to many. Maybe Minnesotans are better educated:D [Just kidding; I'm merely envious].

Thanks to all of you , I now know that I have a shbm got at my local gunshow in Mt. Home Ark a couple years ago, still new has a kydex snapin sheath no nylon. I rarely get a mint knife so have not gave in to the urge to chop everything in site. I am glad to hear it is valuable and got a great deal on it. I have always been fasinated with big knives and have a few bowie style but really like the choppers and tacticl knives. I just found this forum and think it is great too. I do not feel alone in my knife obsession now!!

If INFI is so great, why dont all knife companies make steels as well rounded? I just figured that all these metallurgists could create conventional steel that tops it. ( with the exception of expensive powdered crucible steel). Is there a close equivalent to it before heat treatment?

What makes INFI great is not it's chemical makeup (that could be exactly determined). It is the also the heat treatment (40-80 hrs depending on which HOG you quote). That is secret. INFI is also quite expensive even raw.
