This one just came today. Build quality is nearly flawless. Pics were taken before it went into pocket and got dinged up riding with my Zippo. Great walk and talk, no gaps, the stag is a little plain-jane but still very nice. This is a really nice pattern, I think it'll be fun to get a few more. What do you think?

I like it!

The Stag is a little different but very tastefully done. Looks great and it should age very nicely.

Good grab!

Love the rainy day pic's! I find of all the slipjoint models the Canoe is very people pocket friendly. ;)

Yeah, nice pics, and nice knife.
I just got my first Canoe from Case about 2 weeks ago. I just moved back to KY, so I got the KY Bluegrass in SS and with copper liners.
It is Sheeple friendly, and fits in the pocket very well.

Why don't we continue to do things a little differently here in this forum and leave off the epithets such as "sheeple" etc. Let's try to stick to discussion of the knives and leave the rest for other sub-forums.

Nice lookin' Canoe there. Do the Kissing Cranes have one or two springs on them? I can't tell from the pics.

Two springs and very nicely finished I might add. Smooth and no burrs or gaps.
Already thinking about a Case, just need to decide SS or CV.

Thanks for the extra pics. I like the design of the single backspring on my Queen, but either way it's a good pattern with the sunk joints on both ends.

Since getting into traditionals, the Canoe has by far and away been my favorite pattern. I like the symmetry of the knife, as well as the consistency among companies who use the pattern. If I'm talking about a Canoe, be it Case, RR, Buck, etc., I know for the most part what to expect. Talk about Stockmans, and this can really change. The red in the shield on yours is really nice looking. I hadn't looked at Kissing Crane before, but it looks like I'll have to start.

Are Kissing Crane knives still produced in Germany?

Production was moved to China, but after searching the forums before making a recent KK purchase (lockback whittler with corn cob bone) most said the fit and finish was leaps and bounds better than rough rider which sounds pretty good since I like RR knives. I really need to grab myself one of these canoes, it looks great.

Great looking canoe, I asked you some Q's in the EDC thread but this answered them all...thanks for posting this. :)

I relly like it. I love that color stag. The KK knives sure are some of my favorites. I think I'm going to go dig out my pink KK toothpick and carry it today. Thanks for the little push over the edge. LOL

JohnnyR, that's a beauty. If I had known how much the pattern suits me I'd have gotten into canoes a long time ago. Funny, I always thought of myself as a stockman guy but for the past year my traditional carry has been dominated by two-bladers. Case sm. Texas jack, TB swayback jack and a Queen gunstock (mostly;)) Now the canoe comes along. I'm already thinking of the Texas and SW jacks along with this canoe as my (small) big three of EDCs.

I've got two canoes, a RR and a Queen in D2. The canoe is a great pattern, and very pocket friendly. Of the two I like the Queen because it is a single spring, and has the D2 tool steel blades. That D2 is some good stuff, and she holds an edge a very long time.

I, self-described Canoe-holic cannot say much but I love the pattern. I have few of them, though I gave away one for my friend who didn't had knife. So I gave one of my RR canoes. Mostly I carry these days Queen Honey Amber in D2 or German made Carl Schliepener stainless, which I want in a Giveaway from Duncan (ty again, mate) since I really do prfer Canoe with Single Spring. Of course the two Mutz single blade ones are story of their own... :D

The canoe pattern kinda grew on me. Honestly thought they were kinda ugly:eek: But after I got my first one, it was a lifetime love affair to say the least. I have only 3 in my line up but have had as many as 7 at one time. Seems like there is no middle ground with this pattern......either luke warm or head over heels:D I'm definitely the latter. I like the looks of your knife, the stag looks more like elk in its whiteness. I've never handled a double spring model though, bet it still feels good!
