Bought this NIB Case #64052SS 4-bladed Congress today. How'd I do?

as you get closer to the handle, is the width of the blade actually decreasing? similar to the recurve issue i experienced with my bear and son trapper? or is it just the angle of the camera?

The large pen/spear blade does taper down as you get close to the handle.

Anybody got any idea about the shield? I've yet to find anything about it on the internet.

Just a guess, but maybe it's from Shepherd Hills? They do a lot of Case collaborations. Perhaps this is one of them.

I'm seeing one of these listed on WorthPoint as a "Case XX Congress Dark Red VALENTINE'S DAY HEART" knife, as an SFO (Special Factory Order, 2005 year) of 250 pieces. Case Item #06183.
