Same here, but on the other hand, I can't imagine that the cerakote is causing a greater degree of rusting under the handle???Wow ! That's crazy and making me nervous as I've got some ceracoated knives. Did that blade see use ? Or was it a safe queen?
My BG BJ is edc the others are in storage.
Dont think the cerakote is causing rusting. It seems to protect it better.Same here, but on the other hand, I can't imagine that the cerakote is causing a greater degree of rusting under the handle???
Still, kind of bummed as I was thinking that the greatest benefit of that coating was the added rust resistance.
That is either a prep issue and was there prior to the blade being coated / it withheld moisture during the coating (not likely since Cerakote is baked) or it simply wasn't coated under the grip panels, which would be my likely guess. What do other broken down blades look like - is there coating under the handles?Same here, but on the other hand, I can't imagine that the cerakote is causing a greater degree of rusting under the handle???
