This is the 4 th knife i have made the first 1 got thrown out on accident from wife. the next 2 were more practice runs and this is the first completed 1. ill critique my own work here and u guys can add to it. I would have made the blade 1/2 inch shorter, but before handles were on it look right. now seems blade is longish. i would have made the ricasso area larger. and that about it. blade is 01 steel, and handle is spalted maple burl. what u guys think??

There's a lot to be said for simple lines and a clean look :) The blade/handle length ratio looks fine to me. I agree it would look more graceful with a ricasso. Keep it up!

P.S. I forgot to mention, I really like the spalted maple. I'm a big fan of figured hardwoods... makes a simple effective shape look really cool and custom.

forgot to add size. it is 8 1/2 inches long overall. the blade is 4 inches from tip to wood handle and blade is 1 in wide. thanks for the replies and thanks for looking.
