My first CRK! A sebbie 21 with inlays :D

DAMN WOLFEEEEE what a sweeeetttt collectionnnnn!!!! i noticed you have a few duplicates - do you keep one boxed and use the other? (like i see 4... 5? 6? of identical umnumumumunumazaaan (spelling?))

They're not identical. There's a new pivot (since sold), 2 old pivot-with LBS, an old pivot-no LBS, a limited edition tanto (since sold), and a lefty old pivot. I only keep the matching pair of old pivot-with LBS because they're twins, they share a birthdate. One o them is mint, the other is a user.

Outstanding! I will tell my wife we are getting married! She will be so exited about us getting a wife with an RoF!

wait

I don't think this will work the way I originally planned....

I live only a few miles away from CRK

That will cost me a bloody fortune!!!

of course, the now wife wouldn't be ok with it now that I think of it..

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:p :p :p :p :p :p :p

Thanks for using KnivesShipFree!

Derrick!

your shop is awesome! i can't gush over it enough :) it made the shopping experience really great, being able to see individual knives and knowing what you will really get :D It felt as if i was shopping in a retail shop; i loved how the item gets taken down immediately after you purchase it.

I now have to be more financially responsible while window shopping on your page :P

ps: love the postcard with your signature and the note you put next to it :)

My first CRK! I'm so excited! There's no one i can share this with because when i turn to tell them "DOOD! i just got my first CRK!", i just get looks of disbelief "why'd you spend that much on just a knife?"

It didnt help that i had a coworker loan me his Snakewood Inlayed Sebbie 21 for a few days, with a "nah, just hold onto it for an extra day" enabling outlook :) I had thought i just wanted plain, but that "knivesshipfree" website has individual photos of the different inlays that really sold me on getting a particular wood inlay.

Gotta say, super impressed with the tolerances! I sadly stayed up till 4am just taking em apart, putting em together, do i want a lanyard? do i not? flipping it open and closed... I love the darn little things that came with it too: the cloth, the leather sheath, the paperwork and especially the birthcard.

anyways, i know its "just a knife" but wanted to share with some like-minded folk! I cant wait to learn more about maintenance, things to do with it, and put some hard use onto this blade :)

Great looking knife!!!!!
Looks like you know as much as most folks on the maintenance side. Take em apart, clean them up, put em back together. It's that simple and not complicated at all. Yeah, they're that good. Problem is, unless you have more than, they really don't have to be taken down that often. About the only time I clean mine is when one feels gritty, and that ain't too often.
Hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

Yeah i think i got my initial rampant hours of taking them apart over now. I've been mostly taking them apart testing out different lubes: CRK lube, sewing machine oil, daiwa lightweight oil, militec, silicone oil, and finish line extreme fluoro. I can't speak enough about how confident i felt taking apart the knife everytime knowing that it be pretty hard to strip the screws or overtighten /undertighten.

Anyways, after all that rampant OCD testing... turns out the CRK lube worked the best for me and gave the smoothest feeling (kind of the long way round of "shoudla left it the way it was"). I havent sanded down the washers, just polished on my strop... i dont feel like i need to do that mod - sorta prefer the hydraulic feel, and can still thumbflick it open just fine.

since then, i've tied my own lanyard on without the lanyard pin and have been just enjoying the utility of the knife. Felt great putting it to use today.

Grats on your first, I have a similar 2 tone Gabon Ebony inlay. I also prefer the lighter colour mixed in. Mine is a safe queen as it has stretched raindrop damascus, so she has to stay mint :)

I'm glad you enjoy it, and look forward to seeing your next. Use it in good health!

I have not purchased from KSF yet, though I am on their email list. I love the work they put into the individual pics. I really want to support them for that alone. The only reason I have not, though the have the inlay I am after, they do not have the Damascus I want to go along with it. If they carried the kind of stock levels of inlay with Damascus, I would have spent thousands there.

I'm probably better off they don't!

CONGRATS!! I have a Large Ebony 21 as well....told my brother I started to collect them. And what does he do? Surprises me with with the exact same one!!! Couldn't he at least of gotten me something a little different?? Ugh...he said he couldn't find me a CF 25 so he got me this instead (not knowing I had one). Still...awful nice of him! :)

dyaaam that is extremely nice of him. It's not easy to toss around that kind of cash.

I'm probably going to gift my uncle a Sebenza as well! He owns a printing press/shop and used to be a mechanical engineer - he's always telling me "If you dont do it right, then dont do it at all" and "measure twice, cut once." Sounds familiar? I think he'll appreciate the amount of work that goes into a CRK, and he too loves knives.

All brothers think alike. My brother and I are like that too from time to time. :)
