I am going to be making my first big chopper. I would like to make the blade between 9-11 inches long, with a 5-6 handle. I have only made smaller knives, the longest being 5 inches of blade length. I will most likely be forging the blade, then finish grinding it on my grinder. The handles I am unsure what to use. I have no g10/micarta or any synthetic. I only have hardwoods like cocobolo, walnut, bocote, padauk, and redheart. What would you recommend for the wood I will use? (I could always make a trip to woodcraft) if any of you have any advice on making large knives/choppers, I would really appreciate it. I will keep y'all posted when I start building it :)

Ash or hickory are used for tool handles because of there flexebility.
Don't know if it is neccecary but it won't hurt either
