• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

I thought I'd share a couple of pictures of my first custom knife. It wasn't made for me but was given to me by a friend who had it made.
The maker worked for many years at a west coast power plant and made most of his blades from the used blades out of the steam turbines. I have no idea what the steel is, but they made some beautiful knives. I don't know for sure if this one used that material. Mr. Flynt (the maker) passed away a few years ago, so there's no way for me to find out.
3 7/8" blade and 8 1/4" overall.

That's really cool, we have half an old sawmill blade leaning against the shop that we've used before. Gotta love the cirle of life.;)

Looks VERY well made Dave. If the wood is not laminated such as diamondwood, I would guess it to be rosewood.

VERY different than all those Bucks you have!:D

Thank you. I'm regretting the fact that I never bought any when the maker was still alive. There was a display in the admin buildings lobby, but at the time the prices ( $125 and up) seemed a little too high for a guy who thought $30 was alot to pay for a knife. :o
