My First Damascus and Mammoth Ivory 21!

Congrats. That is a nice looking specimen. I had a chance to get something similar in a classic and slept too long (it went for a song too!)

Excellent score, Love the fact that you have that rare coating (from days gone by) on the Damascus Blade that contrasts the Damascus Beautifully. Congratulations on your first and hopefully many more to come. :thumbup:

Can you explain more, I did not know about a special coating....still learning!
 
I looked long and hard at that one man and came close to pulling the trigger on it but it wasn't what I needed at the time! Congrats man it's a beutiful knife!
 
High contrast (non stainless) damascus blades have been coated with "clearcoat" to protect them from corrosion.
Why your's should have that treatment I can not tell.
Isn't that a stainless damascus blade?
