All i have is files a harbor freight special belt sander as well, and right now i wouldn't have it any other way. Just take your time and you'll do fine. Ill also vote for the first one because i like the simple design.

Just my opinion, but I think if you combined #1 and #2, you would have an ideal knife for my tastes.
Spine profile of #1, handle and edge profile of #2.

I like the first one the most. If I was going to change some things I'd make the swell at the middle of the handle less pronounced. I'm not a big fan of offset fasteners but that's not that big a deal. I do think you should move them away from the outside a tiny bit and maybe shift them all towards the butt.

The knife in your second pic looks nice too.

Go get some wood or cardboard and make some models. That'll let you know if they feel as nice as they look.

I like 1&3 although I think your thumb ramp bight be a tad too forward on 3. Like fumbler said make a cardboard or wood mock up of the shape and you'll know in seconds if a knife will feel as good as it looks on paper.

Sweet designs man! It's awesome to see another high school kid that loves knives (normally I just get the "dude, that's creepy" response). I personally like #3 the best, very unique blade shape. I also like the off center pins, it gives the knife a fun feel. Keep up the good work and post some pics when you get the knives finished!

Mmm, yes, now we're getting there. I liked the thinner handle of #2 though, and I would maybe raise the point. Actually now that I look at them again, I do like #2. I think I would buy that as is, without my suggested mods.

Of course, you are asking the opinions of other people who will all have different tastes. I think you should make the designs you like. Make something you would like using. Then if you start selling, see how they sell. If they don't, then consider changing your designs to suit current popular tastes.

I like them all. I agree with Chris that the pins on #1 could be better placed.

I will third or fourth this one... just my 2c, but if you are going to use offset pins, just try this: cut out a blank from a cereal box or something, marking only where the handle outline would be.. just so you know how it looks in 2d only, and in your hand. from there draw your pins positions on with a pencil... following the flow of the handle. with the pencil, you can change placement of the pins till it looks proper for the shape artistically, and for god sakes move em in a little from the edge. love the shape of the first one, but your pins take away from it IMHO.
