My first electrician's knife---

Not trying to jack the thread but...
I've got a single-bladed Camillus electricians knife.. It came with a rounded tip which gave it a completely straight blade. I haven't seen any others like it... Anyone know anything about it? I can post pics if needed

Like this?

Yep, except the loop on the back is gone, and my blade looks like it's coated black. I guess it's just carbon steel and well patina-ed

If you can post a pic of the tang stamp on it, that might help narrow down the vintage (if you want to find out). Camillus' tang stamps have gone through a lot of changes over the years, so it's a good way to pinpoint how old they are, within a few years. And pics are always welcome here anyway.

Sure thing sir!

NOTE: That's not rust, it's just the way the light in the room was reflecting off of the blade. It looks as if that loop had been there at one time but was removed or broken.

EDIT: A little backstory on this knife: It was my very first knife. My dad gave it to my older brother, and my brother gave it to me when I was around 7 or 8. I spent a lot of time throwing it and trying to get it to stick "point" first in the ground... Eventually it hit a rock or something and chipped, hence the weird angle there. Back when I was in cub/boyscouts I tried to sharpen it and that's why you see a lot of scratches. I did recently put an edge on it so it can shave now, but I did it at factory angle as I never use it anymore anyways :)

This tang stamp looks like yours. The 'slanted' font seems to have been used anywhere from 1973 - 1988. I've linked the pic from another useful BF thread, on dating Camillus knives:

I want one of those TL-29. Those on ebay who are selling to EU are pretty expensive tho...

Art, shoot me an email, medicevans@gmail.com. I know where another one is, and I could pick it up and ship it to you if you want. It is $20 USD, and add whatever true shipping would be. Just let me know as soon as possible before it sells.
