I got my Pete Gray monster thumbdisk (bead blasted zirc, rifled) installed, and went a little picture crazy.
In the second photo, that's the factory disk sitting on top of the PG disk. It makes the size difference really apparent!
The disk itself is nicely made: uniform finish, fits perfectly in the notch on the spine, and the rifling is well-executed and quite grippy. It came with a screw, but I just used my existing screw.
I installed it and then, after seeing just how close to the full width of the scales it actually is, took it back off. My Mini CQC-7 is already doing a number on the edges of my jeans pockets -- the texture on the G10 is more aggressive than on any other knife I've owned. With the disk so much wider, I figured the disk would also abrade my pockets, and since I don't have any issues opening the knife with the factory disk (muscle memory now nicely established after some regular carry), it didn't seem worth it.
But I decided to give it a shot for a couple days, at least, so I reinstalled it. It
is easier to open with the larger disk, and I figure a few days of carry will tell me whether that matters, and whether the larger disk actually does wear my pockets out faster than the G10 alone.
That's . . . a lot of words about a ceramic widget smaller than my pinkie nail.

Carry on as you were.
