Hello all,

I've been making knives for about 4 months now and last 1 month was dedicated to learning to engrave. This folder was made by my dad and engraving by me.

Let me know what you think of it. What you think is there market for these kind of knives too (read: would you buy this? :) )

Welcome to blade forums, very nice engraving and knife.
I would get rid the phillips head screws
and use torx head or sloted engraved screws.

We need the dimensions and steel type of the knife also.
Is it a slip joint or a lock blade?

Knife looks good and engraving is beautiful. Where I to have the necessary funds, Yes, I would be happy to buy that.

Welcome to BladeForums.

looks real nice. The blade scroll should prolly come down a bit toward the handle and may be get a bit longer/wider too ? If this is what you can do after only 1m of learning , you definitely got a talent for it !

It might be tough to get torx screws in Estonia, but the advice is dead on. You should be able to find a place that would ship internationally.

Thanks for your kind words and suggestions.

Indeed torx screws are here impossible to find and for this knife we used what we found from old times. I will order torx screws ASAP.

rashid11: you're probably right about blade scroll placement, I think design is the hardest part of engraving.

This knife is anyway our first engraved project and it will probably never be sold (after 50 years when we're famous then it'll sell for a fortune ;)).

Total length of knife is 12cm (4 3/4"), blade is 9 cm (3 1/2"). Blade steel is unfortunately unknown, all I know is that it's made of bandsaw blade and it's very tough, I broke graver tips like there's no tomorrow. Knives that will go for sale will probably have ATS-34 blades (another order in queue).

Thanks!
Viljo
