My Leuku just got here. All I can say is bravo Andy and crew. The Fiddleback Friday pic did do it justice, I thought it looked great. This far exceeds my expectations. Every line and curve is clean and tight. It has a solid feel in the hand while not feeling heavy. The wood is beautiful and perfectly smooth. If I had any reservations about buying and higher end knife all doubt is solidly removed.

Though this seems to be considered a "large" knife I find the size perfect for my purposed which is general bushcraft. Will be putting it to some tasks this weekend.

I don't mean to sound gushy but man, I get the addiction. I mean I have always loved and collected knives but this is something else altogether.

Going to get some pics of her this weekend so stand by.

Cheers,
-d

The Friday pics never do the knives justice, it's like some sort of under-selling technique they have going on. You think it looks pretty good in the Friday pics, and then when you unwrap the brown paper it exceeds your expectations, nearly knocks your eyes out, and you get this unexpected and uplifting moment of joy :)

Large is subjective I think. I really like the Leuku's little brother, the Recluse, but I really like the size of the Leuku for woods roaming. The Bishop is a large knife :)

Congratulations, and welcome to the addiction, the support group meets on Friday mornings for our weekly enabling session ;)

Really looking forward to seeing your pics man!

It's 3/16

Glad you like the knife. The more we make the more I like that model.

I'd like to say the pics are not so good... So when the end user opens the package we get this type of reaction.. But it really has to do with a lack of knowledge and no editing software on my end.

Hopefully that'll change though

Even if you guys got the cheapest dslr like a Canon Rebel or Nikon 3000 series and mount it on a small Joby GorillaPod and you have a realitively inexpensive setup. The drastic increase in sensor size will give you TONS more resolution. It doesn't take much to make a Fiddleback look nice ;)

I have a 40D and a tg2 will shoot a variety, some brackets to make some HDR composites. I'm a cg artist so..Anyway they are good pics, I just don't think any pic can translate the experience and detail.

Anywho... It's a work in progress and hopefully the sharks will benefit in the not so distant future

Back on track..... The leuku is badass and so is mango

I have always liked the Recluse...and that Leuku is a really great model! I may have to get me one of those soon!

The Leuku is bad ass, and I plan to snag one at some point. That mango one looks awesome. Hell, I didn't even have a clue what the wood was on the handle of this one, and I had to make myself put it back in the tray after checking the feel and balance.

Sometimes.....Brian, I hate you.

Just kidding. I'm just jealous bro :p

;) thanks for the thorough pics over all these years.

I just kept looking at that black mango leuku thinking how could that have sat there for so long... I am glad you go it... I was going to have to if someone else didn't. That knife is stunning.

Pics bro!

Welcome to the club. Enjoy abusing that Leuku. It's 3/16" right?

As far as I know all of them have been 3/16 so far. The heft and balance have been awesome on all of them I have handled so far. Damned hard to set back down...

My my, that was unexpected, I thought you preferred the thinner models :) You know my two main addictions are my camera and knives, can't help but to combine the two know and then :D

I know right?! It stayed there longer than I expected, I must have spent at least two hours going over possible financial scenarios in my head trying to find one that was workable where I could snag it.

I have a Green Coconut Burlap Leukku and I gotta say, I love it. It is a touch heavier than I would hope, but it is such a solid knife and a sweet profile.

sounds slick Bartlax4

added crappy cell phone pic to start of thread, breaking out the real cameras this weekend. See if I can do it any justice.
