Hello all. This is my first post here, although I've been admiring Andy's work for a while now.

I happened to be traveling in North Georgia and of course had to Google knife shops in the area. Low and behold, Fiddleback Forge pops up!

I decided to call the shop and Andy answers. He invited me to the shop for a look around. Of course it was all over at that point... You all know I wasn't leaving empty handed!

Andy was kind enough to take some time out of his busy day to help hand pick me a new EDC knife fresh out of this week's batch! He explained the difference between the O1 and A2 steels and we decided that this Esquire in A2 was the one for me. I couldn't be happier.

Also, all of the guys in the shop are super nice and made me feel at home. Andy and crew have earned a lifelong customer. If you are ever in N. GA, don't forget to look these guy's up.

Now I just need some recommendations on a good front pocket sheath. I'd like to give the business to a BF member and Fiddleback fan. If you read this and do leather work, hit me up via PM.

Thanks Fiddleback!!!

It was nice to meet you today. That was a great choice the spalting is awesome. I hope I didn't freak you out when I opened the door

Wow!! A2 with great spalting, bolsters, and yellow liners to highlight the beautiful burl wood. That is an amazing first Fiddleback.

That is very cool that they made you feel welcome and provided perfect advice on the choice.

Congratulations,

Phil

Hey Vance. It was great to meet you today as well! Thanks for the time you spent with me today. No man I wasn't freaked out, I've seen plenty of pictures of your shop here on the forum and I know that you guys all walk around geared up like space men lol. By the way, I walked out not even knowing which model of knife I chose! which one is it?

Thanks for the compliment. It really is beautiful. unfortunately I'm a terrible photographer and my photos really don't do it justice. The texture on the A2 is really amazing.

I know....... I'm already wondering what folders need to go now. I just got a ZT 0452 CF and its days are now numbered. The Esquire just bounced it right out of my pocket!

I just came across this in the sub forum. It looks like "A" may still be available, and its for an Esquire! My lucky day..

Good looking Esquire there. Man the spalting on all of the A2 I've seen them do looks fantastic.

Your excitement is making me want to put the hiking buddy I showed you up for awhile and break out my esquire again

Great looking first (of many) Fiddleback! Congrats on the score and on the chance to see the shop. I hope to see it in person some day too.
