My First Flipper Prototype- NOW WITH VIDEO!

I know why Ray wants to keep this as his own - it's sweet! I played with it today, and it is sooooo smooth.

Guys, thanks again for the kind words. I think this may be my favorite folder so far. Since it was sort of experimental, I just used O1 for the blade. I didn't want to use expensive steel if it didn't work. I'll be using S35VN If I make more.

Just watched the video after you posted it. Looks like you got the geometry and physics correct with the flipper location. Looks like it takes almost no effort to get the blade moving. Awesome indeed.

Saw the vid a minute ago. Two words......KICK ASS. What I found very interesting was the cut out in the blade to accommodate the stop pin. I thought that was really cool, since it hides the pin when the blade is opened. Nice work Ray!

Dang, Ray - that is REALLY nice. Your finish detail always leaves me amazed. That is a winner from what I can see. A BIG winner . . .

A wolf in sheep's clothing, a tiger in a tuxedo . . . a lovely, lovely beast. Great job, Ray!

Love the narration on the vid. :D

IF YOU MAKE MORE??? That knife is, my favorite one yet and the flipping action seems buttery. Trust me, make more!

Whooooah - Back up Marlowe, this Blade Rocks - I will chat soon Ray, let me sort out my movements for the next few months and I will be in touch. I love the no jimping.

Ray, Just gorgeous, gorgeous, beastly blade - I love it.
No worries about the washers, it works for me.
Great vids, I like this aspect of knife makers showing off goods on Who Tube, as you can see the Blade in hand, sold me on the new ZT blades as I got a better representation of dimension. Are these vids new? As I have never seen them before.

Are you working with CPM M4 yet?

Take care Ray, cool stuff man, cool stuff- You going to be at Blade next year???
Cheers,
Guy
