I just finished this framelock.. It's my first! Overall, I like the way it turned out. It's pretty much the same as making a linerlock but with fewer parts. I used .122" Ti on the lock side and jade G10 for the backspacer and the scale side. The blade is CPM154. I had a lot of fun making it. I just had to be real carefull when cutting the lockbar that it looks good because it can be seen, unlike on a linerlock. What do you guys think of it? Thanks for looking!

Ray, that looks really nice:thumbup: Very clean lines like I'm accustomed to seeing from you. It's a really nice piece. Speaking of being careful cutting in the lock, what do you use to cut your locks in? It looks very straight and clean.

It's hard to believe that this is your first Framelock Ray! I will definitely be ordering one of these in the new year.......EXCELLENT:)

I like it...at very first I was thinking it was a bit plain in the shape...bit blocky.

But that's a big beefy blade and I have large hands and the more I looked at it with the blade nearly set fully into the frame, the more it grew on me. I bet it handles very nicely and with a big blade, that's a major plus.

Also frankly, I tend to take clips off knives and less swoopy grip shapes actually sit in and come out of the pocket more easily.

My one nit to pick, use flush screw heads for the spacer points, it would be just an added percent cleaner looking...though I imagine a pain in the ass too. Leave the cap screws at the pivot as they are beefier over time for adjustments.

There are three or four guys here that make lines so characteristically clean, I think I could spot who made the knife without maker's marks on them...you are one of them.

If I had the cash I would have tried to pick off a few of yours so far.

Guys, thanks for the comments. I really apreciate the kind words.

kingsqueak, I thought about using flathead screws on the ones that go through the spacer but since the stop pin and pivot screws had to be button head, I thought it would be better to have them all the same..

I use Dremel type cut off wheels on a drill press to cut the lockbar. Here's a picture of the cut. This one turned out real nice.

Looks great! very clean and precisely cut.

I'd love to buy one of these eventually, you should build more for sure :)

Really nice for a first. I hope to be half as good on my first one.

How much time do you have in it for the first one you have done like this?

I made this framelock and a linerlock together and it took 4 days. I always try to work on batches of two knives or more.

Love it Ray! Ive been bugging Ray to make a framelock for months!!
You know who to sell the 1st one too yeah!?

I love the simplicity Ray. I have made a dozen or so of the liner lock and they have all ended up in the trash bucket. I don't think folks know how difficult these guys are to make. Pat yourself on the back for this one.
