Hey guys this is my first attempt at a gyuto. After making about a dozen hunters I've been on a chef blade kick and this is my latest. It's Alabama damascus HT'd by Peter's to 60rc. The blade is 9in and the handle is 4.5in. The spine tapers from 0.10 at the end of the handle to 0.04 near the tip. The heel height is 2in. The edge thickness before sharpening was 0.008 to 0.01. The handle is Rosewood that I got from my uncle who is a furniture craftsman. I welcome your comments and critique! I'm trying to up my photography level as well. The camera catches everything doesn't it? (Even the bread crumbs I didn't clean up:()

That's a beautiful knife. How are you putting your name on the tang, is it done by hand? I really like it.

Looks like you understand the principles of what makes good chef knife, keep up the great work!

Thanks guys! I put my name on the tang with my electro-chem etcher. I had been putting the logo on the blade face but with this knife I was so excited to see the damascus pattern I etched it before putting the logo on. (shouldn't have rushed) I was worried about the logo bleeding too much from the FeCl etching so I had a stencil maker make me a smaller version of my logo to fit on the tang.
