Howdy everybody!

I've been lurking for a short while, admiring and learning. My interests are mostly fixed blades, traditionals, and hawks. I've been wanting a hawk ever since I got a chance to throw one a couple months ago at a local event. I had thrown knives before and throwing a hawk felt very natural to me. Also, I wanted a hawk for camp use that I could carry in my day pack.

I went to a gun show (Ozark Empire Gun and Knife Show) last weekend. I was mainly looking for a hawk and possibly a utility knife. After admiring many guns I wish I could afford, I came across a table with some fine looking hawks! The young man, Devin Price, gave me a great deal. He had $70 on this one and $15 for the sleeve/sheath and I got them both for $65! It feels great in the hand, and I can't wait to throw and chop with it! I left the show very happy! :D

Now, I have a little piece of Missouri with me to remind me of my time in this beautiful state!

Very nice one. I'm jealous.

And welcome to Bladeforums. Well, welcome to posting. LOL

Hi there Lightfoot, welcome to the hawk forum. I'll tell ya, that is a hell of a hawk you got there for an amazing price, congrats. Do you know what the steel is? Very clean looking hawk. Is it hand forged? The grinding is pretty great. I want one ;-)) How long is the head and the cutting edge?
Any chance for a pic taken of the top of the head?

Regards

Robin

Great pics, man.

Those are some seriously nice hawks. If he could just get some longer hafts. . .

I emailed him about it and he said he gets a lot of requests for longer hafts and is going to look into a source for them.

Thanks guys!

Robin, the head is cast, 6150 spring steel, 5.75' long. The cutting edge is approximately 1/16'. The half is 19' long.

Here's a pic from the top:
