Hi Mates,

Out of my dreams, the shipping guy called me this morning. He was carrying a triangle box and I knew what's inside... a 18" Gelbu Special and a 18" ASTK.

I've been dreaming of this box for almost 02 years... Both dreaming and praying in fact. I have struggled a lot with Customs and had to refrain my desire. I just could only stand outside watching you guys buying the DOTDs, I just could do nothing. Last month, I found one shipping guy who can help me import this. God did blessed me! Try, never give up and you'll find the way...

Auntie have been really nice with dozens of emails from me, especially when she is busy taking care of Grandpa. The service is excellent. Please accept here a deep thank from me...

I just could take some quick photos and post them here to share with you this happiness of mine. Havent known which mark is from which kami yet! Will get the khukuris into the field very soon!

All the best!

Hung

Good to hear you finally got what you've been dreaming of, Hung !
Now you don't have to make your own. ;)

If you post closeups of the Kami marks, someone can probably identify them for you, or you can browse the kami mark archive in the link library at the top of the forum ( but if it's one of the newer kamis, it might not be in there yet.)

Hung,

Very nice kukris and some excellent pictures! You can always tell if a kukri found the right home by the pics! In this case, I think the Gelbu Special and the ASTK found a great home. No doubt they will be taken care of. Good luck with them.

Dear Hung,

Very glad you finally get to savor the fruit of H.I

The handle on ASTK, is that brushed horn?

The fur is amazing, not to mention cool crossbow.

Very happy for you. Enjoy the moment!

Congrats:)

And that's a sweet crossbow you have there:thumbup::D

The Kami is the maker right? and the mark tells you which one?

Good for you Hung, Glad to read that you got your khuks~!

Chef, yes. Check out some of the stickys that show the kami marks.

I really like my Gelbu Special, those are some nice khukuris.

Congrats Hung! I know you have been fighting Customs hard for those. Glad you won.

Now you can enjoy some quality time alone with you new Khukuries!

Thanks Mates for your sharing!

Been happy for the whole day...

I just checked the marks. The GBS is by Sher Kami with a rising sun (half sun).

For the ASTK, I haven't known yet. It looks like a stick with 02 small circle on top. I have looked around and it looks similar to the piece of Warty here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=742330 Will take picture tomorrow with natural light.

The handle of ASTK was made from horn without polish. I like the raw feel.

I bought the fur in the weekend market of Thailand. Assume to be from male baby cow as they would have no milk and killed as a calf. Now that I realize it's not nice to place khukuris on the fur of a cow. I'm sorry! Next time I'll change.

The crossbow I bought at in the local flea market. It's old and looks really fine.

Cheers,

Hung

Thank you for sharing

Congrats! I like happy endings but this is likely just the beginning "of a wonderful [business] friendship."

Unrelated: has anyone tried using a closed Cho for a lanyard hole while choping?

Below are the markings.

Gelbu Special: is this by Sher kami? Is he the same with Sher (the tiger)?

ASTK: as Warty said, this is by by Dil kami. I saw a similar marking with Warty's piece.

With the little hash mark above the "A" I think this is the nephew of Sher the Tiger, right?
He is using his uncle's kami mark to honor his memory and to honor the fine work he once did for all of us.
Unfortunately I can't remember his name now... Stickfred will though. :)

The ASTK is definitely Dil though.

You have that backwards, warty.:D
This piece is by Sher(the Tiger)....Santosh, his nephew, initials do not contain the hash mark above the first initial.
