My first Hinderer! Happy Birthday to me....

Happy B'Day A EDC nice first choice, and enjoy the journey through Hinderer ownership. Your pictures are great and we are a visual group here, like they say no pictures, it didn't happen. Any questions on your ownership, such as sharpening, centering, flipping, acquisition of accruements can be answered by our resident experts (lots of institution knowledge here).

Man enough to admit the Hinderer just bit me! LOL.

You see, I'm a lefty and tried closing it all one handed (right) a little too quickly while a little distracted. By the time I had enough pressure on the lock release I had too much on the blade.

Won't make this mistake a second time. Looks worse than it is...a paper cut really.

Photo to prove it...as without photo it didn't happen the forum says.

Well, perhaps as a birthday gift...after some ointment and a bandage...you'll be all healed and ready to go by the 2nd.

It's a nice gift / purchase. Happy birthday.

Nice bite. I just stuck 3/4"-1"-ish of the tip of a 8" chef's knife into the back of my hand, in the meaty part between my thumb and index finger. Note to self: don't reach for stuff in front of the wicked edge when there's a knife being sharpened!! I basically impaled myself as I was drawing my hand back... Sometimes I'm kinda dumb.

Awesome! Happy birthday and congrats! How are you liking the 3.5" vs 3 and the spanto vs slicer? I know you were looking for a 3" slicer...

Great pics, too by the way..

Seems like it's everyone's birthday, mine isn't until Dec so maybe I can reload the PP account by then for a custom....

Idk if its coincidence, but it seems like a lot of birthdays are in August.. Like myself, was on the 18th. I actually treated myself to one of these beauties too.

Nice NM08SRT8 Happy Belated. Sorry to hear AZ2AK that's horrible. I'm already healed. I heal very quickly for some reason. It was like an hour ago and here it is now. I somehow managed to have a 5 gallon bucket of mud set on me...has never happened before. I just chipped it out, not with the knife. That's the streak on my hand.

Happy birthday everyone! Great birthday presents. Mine was on the 24th. I got myself a brass investigator, a textured CF scale, a crusader cross, and I will hopefully have a bronze ano scale on the way early next week! Unfortunately no XMs for my birthday this year. Im holding out on buying anymore and keeping my paypal account intact for a bit until I can locate a Fieldtac or a FXM.

Thanks Greenjeans68

Cutting carrots last night proved to me it's not good for slicing. But it worked incredibly well for peeling skin off an apple. I will make a video after house guests depart...maybe.

I felt like a was batoning wood, more like prying apart the carrot....Lest anyone view this as a criticism: be it known I did not buy this for slicing up food. I bought it for prying open paint can lids.

Maybe in December/January...backing up about 9 mos. our folks were feeling that HOLIDAY spirit and conceived all of us Aug/Sept babies?

Lol, it's funny you say that. I was actually talking to some coworkers about that today.. That the probably got cold, wanted to warm up.. Next thing you know..... Lol

In my case I cannot ask. My folks died together 2 weeks prior to planned retirements/parties....very long story involving a murder trial. My father was with the National Park Service in Alaska when he died. On an aside, make sure you all live for today a little bit. You just never know what will happen.

I really wish I could ask them......

Brother, I'm sorry for your loss..

On a side note, maybe it's best we didn't know what was going through their heads at that point in time.. Lol

I made the mistake of taking my Wife to a knife show. Now she knows how much they cost and when the shows are

What was I thinking...

when i brought the girlfriend to ECCKS she left with more knives than me! by the end of the weekend she was best friends with TNK's wife....

Sorry to hear...

Thanks guys. Not intending a downer at all. I use it as a lesson to people for living a little along the way!

I'm building an AR15 for the wife. I think she does like knives, though not like me. I'm hoping she can get into shooting a rifle. She's about to start carrying concealed. Maybe I'll try to get us to a show! With kids it's hard to get anywhere.
