My First Homemade Knife

Hi Skunk, Where did you get the metal for the knifes??? I like the looks of the second one alot. You realy got a way with making knifes.

thanks, the second one was designed my my friend up in Central Mass.

I got the 5160 steel at Mcmaster&Carr.
 
Isn't it amazing the things you can accomplish when you're avoiding the bow drill? ;)

Excellent job with the knife. I've always wanted to make knives -have had a bar of 440C laying around here for20+ years and a couple of knife making books. Maybe I'll buy a Bic lighter and use the extra time to get started. :rolleyes:
