my first khukuri!!!

You might want to take special heed of the 'horn care' advice you're getting, Peeps- There seems to have been a rash of poorly cured horn coming out lately. Take a good look at your handle(s) in strong, direct light (sunlight is great for this) and see if there are any cracks. :)
 
These knives are definitely made for the long haul. My first one is still going strong & it is 13 or 14 years old, at least. I prefer the horn handles. My wife prefers wood. These are good people. If you like khukuris, you are in the best place. Uncle Bill & Yangdu are the finest folks you'll ever meet.
