My first knife (made from scratch)

I go by the handle keygrip over there. But enough inter-forum chat, I want to know what you used for the bolsters.
 
The bolsters are iron. Seems like it used to be pretty common to use iron for bolsters--I have some german silver I'm thinking of using on the next knife I make.
