Yeah, rosewood darkens. Cocobolo is a real popular rosewood. It starts off almost kind of orange. You have to wait a few weeks so it can darken and turn red. I'm sorry you don't like the dark finish. I'll bet it looks good in person, your pictures are pretty dark.
