Howdy All,

I have posted here a few times, and I just made a knife, so I thought I would post it here.

I call it, The Sheriff.

I made it in the shop of Robert Alderman of Tracker's Forge, he oversaw the construction, and made sure that I didn't make too many mistakes.

But, specifically, I thought I would show off an image my sister took....

Thank you,

Nice work!Keep'em coming.

PS. I believe someone is using a very similar makers mark.

You can tell the teacher's influence on the student :) Very nicely done! Good for both of you.

Thanks Will.

It did not start as Period, but once it was forged out, it was obviously a Searles, and fairly purely so, so Southwestern it had to be.

I will have something else done next week.

I think I am gonna make a mortised tang drop point Bushcrafter style with a forge finial that doubles as a lanyard hole.

Holy Crap! First knife?! Okay, I'm packing up my toys and going home.

Marion, that's one fine knife! Thanks for making my day.

Thank you guys.

It was a real pleasure to do it. And even I am a bit surprised at how well it came out.

Funny thing, I had totally over-thought all of it, and was expecting it to be just ridiculously hard. But, like most things, I took it one problem at a time, and it came out pretty darn well. Not perfect, but perfect for me, and perfect for a first knife.

I am very proud of it.

I have wanted to do this for 15 years.

Now, we are off to number 2.

Wow, that looks great! I love the handle proportions.

Yeah, it came out pretty great.

Marion was going to put a simple slab handle on it, so we drilled for that.

Then he decided to go Southwestern, so we figured it out, and it went well.

That would be a great knife even if it was the 50th one you had made. I especially like the curve of the blade.
