My first knife!!!!

finished grinding my knife today so i slapped a quickie handle on it and scanned a pic--starting on the file work tomorrow and also a real mhandle out of ash--blade is 9 1/2 inches 3/16 ats-34 with a convex grind and satin finish--it will be shinier when i ak done--so what do ya'll think?

He is using ATS-34.

It looks real good. A little big for a skinner (by industry norm), but it is your creation so call it anything you want. How liberating it must feel. If I though I could come close to doing half as well I would be on a grinder right now.

Looks really good, Belstain! Question: was that knife influenced by Lynn Griffith's Spec Ops series? The way the handle and blade fit together is very similar. Great work!

no chiro this knife was actually modeled after a busse basic #9. A friend of mine has wanted one for a long time but he couldnt afford it so i told him I'd make him a big knife that he could afford. i made a few wooden knives and this is the one he chose
