hey guys just wanted to show off a little. picture quality is not that great but i hope you like. By the way, any constructive criticism would be great, by looking around the site i can learn alot from you guys.

A heck of a lot better than my first knife:eek:! Great job! You may want to play with pin placement a bit in the future as the front pin just looks off to me not being centered with the bolster. Take that for what it's worth, but again, great job for a first knife!

I was thinking the bottom two pins looked good, the middle might be a little high. Did you etch the damascus at all so you can see the pattern, or is it just the pic not showing it?

the blade is etched then buffed to a high polish, but alas the photo quality is very poor, thanks for the comments so far keep 'em coming, will work on the pins next time. Also i have some pics of my homemade forge i will post later

Very respectable showing for a first knife.
Nice execution of a tough project.
I see nothing more to critique other than what's been mentioned.
Like to see more as you go forward.

well its better than mine i think lol but i never forged my own steel im using an old hunk of laminated steel i guess i better take pictures im half done my first knife. well 70 % done i need 1/8 inch pins and a finger gaurd and epoxy the handleand shaft then finish staining the handle.i have a small problem the blade i choose to use had 2 small holes in the blade. mora steel laminated has a hardness of 61 so ya i broke one blade by hitting it with a hammer after temepering lol ps ya yours is nicer kellyw

guys thanks for all the great feedback, in hindsight i just placed the pins in a random triangle pattern, will correct that from now on. I have a new fishing knife (i love to fish) going right now that i will post pics of soon. Again many thanks.
