Been a lurker for a while here and decided to try to make some knifes. I'm almost finished my very first knife and have one more ready for handle's (already hardend).

So my list of question's begin's with:

When useing loveless bolts how do you get a decent finish (see pic). I sanded but all it would do is change where the hole was.

Has anyone used the spyderco sharpmaker diamond stones to make your edge from scratch? I have a sharpmaker with the factory stones and it won't do much at all on my hardend knife. I went to a rough stone i had and it still took 3-400 stroke's to get me close. I then had a hugh pile of stone dust :)

I messed up the grind's on this knife but it's my first so don't be too hard on me. Steel is O-1 and 58 rockwell (sent it out)

My second knife is a little better and maybe tommorrow i'll start to clean it up (still dirty from heat treat) I do have some wood on the way from burl source's amazing pay the shipping for new guy's deal.

Anyway here's some crappy night time pics. Once i'm totally done i'll post some better one's. Hope you like it.

The gap you're getting is the gap in the threads of the bolt. Next time, you'll need to pein the center threaded rod to expand the metal and fill the gap. Then sand to finish.

As far as I know there is no way to stop that with Loveless bolts. I also would be interested if someone can offer a solution. Sorry no experience with the spyderco sharpener. Blades look pretty good, you should be proud.

Just read the above post, never thought of that.
