Hey folks,
I'm new to the forum. Have been lurking for awhile, reading all the posts and reading about how you guys do the things you do. I started because I was in search of a good sander/grinder and that search brought me here. I thought I'd post a couple of pictures (not sure I understand how to post pics) of my first attempt at a knife. I did NOT forge or shape this blade, but bought the blank from a bladesmith. Handle material is mesquite that I stabilized (thanks to your "how to" section), mosaic pins, white fiber spacer, brass guard (fashioned from bar stock) and the damascus blank. Tools are limited so far, with a 4x36 sears belt sander with 80 and 100 grit, misc. hand files, a buffing wheel, lansky diamond sharpeners and a drill press.
Feedback encouraged.

Thanks,
Mike

Even for just a handle job That's really nice! and even nicer if you filed the vine!

Looks great.

There's a lot of work in getting the wood sanded just right to get a nice tight joint.

Can't wait to learn how to do file work like that.
