Gee wiz, boss, I've always wanted to work on a transmission.....AND make a Kwaiken! I've always wanted to do a "hamon" on a knife as well, and figured this would be a good opportunity to give it a whirl. I think it came out OK, not the most activity per se, but it is clean and simple. Knife was made from Aldo's W-2 tool steel. Heat treat was done "in house", and saw a normalizing heat and 4 thermal cycles, one subcritical, for exceptionally fine grain. The walnut came from Woodcraft, and has great figure in it. The balance point is spot on, right at the ricasso. Feels quick in the hand, but hefty enough to do, well, whatever kwaikens and tantos do!!!! Has NOT been tested on the bodies of ANY person, living or dead. (with the exception of the end of my finger during sharpening). I have not made a kydex sheath for it at the moment, but one will be included with the purchase.
Thank you so much for checking out my knife! If there are any questions, or comments, please let me know your thoughts in the thread, or send me a PM/email.

The pics aren't that great. I've learned that trying to photograph a knife, while capturing the hamon, is difficult to pull off well. (especially with my lack of camera skills!). But what is MORE frustrating, is PHOTOBUCKET will turn some of my pics upside down. When I edit them to orient correctly, the edit will not stick. Pic is not upside down from camera....PHOTOBUCKET does it. I've got to figure out a better website to host pics on for this site. So my UTMOST SINCERE apologies for the stupid upside down pictures.
