My first kydex sheath

I don't think there's anything that Andy can't do if he puts his mind to it.

Thanks gents. I don't know about anything. I did spin some sheet metal today on the new lathe at work. That was cool as hell. I can see myself incorporating that into furniture and knives soon.

AZS, Yep those spots got it all. Including kits that are all inclusive.

I ordered some OD green kydex for a guy yesterday.

Do they sell the rivets and apparatus for setting them too?

The rivets for kydex are readily available in two lengths that I know of and have used. You can buy a sinple rivet set tool that you strike with a plastic mallet. You can even take a 4" length of bare brazing rod and chuck it in a cordless drill. Turn on the drill and your belt grinder and spin the brazing rod against the belt grinder until you have made a nipple the right diameter to fit inside the rivet. Grind it to the right length and set the rivets by hitting it.

Or you could buy an expensive kydex rivet setting tool.

I've set many a kydex rivet with the tool and base it comes with. Kind of like a grommet setting kit and it works very well. Just don't whack the set too hard or too many times because it will distort the rivet.

If you do screw up a rivet just drill it partially with a 1/4" drill and then squeeze it together with needle nose pliers and pull it out. Then just put a good on in it's place.

Am I making any sense, I've been in the rum punch tonight.
