I made this set for a friend of my brother. He requested these after seeing the chef I made for my brother for Christmas.

These are .107" 154cm from Aldo's. One is 14" OAL with a 9" blade. The other is 12" OAL with 7" blade. The handles are green mother of pearl kirinite with black G10 liners and brass pins.

I really like the stuff you have been putting out dude. Very clean lines, handle material choices, etc. The mosaic pins on your others are still the only mosaic pins I have ever liked.

Ver well done, fit and finish looks excellent. Love the handle material. You took something I usually feel borderline cheesy (any of the colored pearly stuff) but did it in an interestingly overpowering way with a nice black liner to tie it all in. Nice straight and uniform final finish. What grit is that? I can tell it is high from the near polished appearance, 600-800 ish? Looks terrific.

Among my favorites you've done. I'm not a kitchen knife guy so I can't speak to all the little shape things involved therein, but the other stuff I feel I can speak about is excellent. Cheers.

Very nice. As you have clearly discovered, simple and crisp is beautiful in a knife. Blade finish is superb.

Extraordinary Christmas gifts that will, I'm sure, be proudly displayed and used year round.

Looks like a great set!
How is the Kirinite when it gets wet?
I've yet to handle a knife with any of it.

Thanks for the compliments guys. As you know, you're never completely happy with your own work, there's always some nagging little detail that eats at you, even if the end customer doesn't notice it. Your praise means alot.

Thanks man. Those mosaic pins have been challenging but I've been happy with the end results.
The handles are finished to 800 grit. I usally go 1000-1500 but I'm out of those grits right now. These are also buffed with white compound.

Looks like a great set!

Thanks! Good question. I may have to test that before delivery so I know what to expect.

Actually, this is a commissioned set. They were requested after he saw the knife I made for my brother for Christmas. After delivery, I intend to use part of the price to upgrade to KnifeMaker membership here!

I was actually meaning thd grit on the steel... I can see it is a nice uniform longitudinal finish right? The bit of reflection I can see makes it appear to be high grit. Looks great.

Good eye... this was 600 grit. I personally don't like mirror finish, so I usually go with 600-800.

I am finding that to be the sweet spot for nice kitchen knives. :) More utilitarian ones I leave at 400g.

Beautiful work. I love the clean lines and handle contouring.

Your photos are excellent as well. The overall warmth contrasts nicely with the kirinite.
