My first pass-around!!

Since I'm brand new to this knife making thing, I don't have any set designs or names for them. This one is affectionately called "Knife 3". It's a one-of-a-kind. I know I still have a long way to go in the fit and finish department, but I'd love to do a pass-around to see if ya'll think I'm on the right track.

At the advice of some friends who have seen their pass-arounds go south, I'm going to borrow Tonym's rules from his Fiddleback passaround (I hope he doesn't mind). I'm sorry if that excludes someone, but it makes sense to me to do it. I'd hate to lose "Knife 3" :D

Here's the knife:

Specs:
01 Steel
3 3/4" blade
8" overall
Mirror polished convex edge
Handle is Emerald Dymondwood with Black Liners

I haven't made a sheath yet, but it will be a kydex sheath

On to the business:

Once you see that I posted your name please email me your Full name, home address, shipping address, email, and 2 contact phone numbers.

Here are the rules:

1. You must promise to ship the knife after 5 days of possession. Shipping must be USPS insured for 200.00 and sent Priority to the next person on the list, plus, you must use "delivery confirmation" when you send.
2. You must take at least one pic and post it in the passaround thread with your impressions of the knife.
3. We want you to use this knife as you would use your own. It is a wilderness tool not a concrete chopper. So be reasonable.
4. You must have at least 500 posts to be included, or, if we know you personally
5. We prefer paid members, unless we know you are a regular here.
6. Clean the blade as necessary and please ship it sharp to the next person! Simple stropping is all that is needed.

*We reserve the right to not include you in the passaround if for any reason we are not sure of your intentions, etc.*
*CONUS ONLY. Sorry guys, but we are going to keep this in the lower 48*

I'll take 10 or so people on this one:
1)tonym
2)John G
3)Sharp Eye
4)MacHete
5)JC in SC
6)CaptInsano
7)SpookyPistolero
8)BushcraftBrainTrust
9)Rockywolf
10)C Bryant

I'll arrange the list from East to West coast once I get all 10.

I'm tentatively holding some spots for some regulars who expressed interest in my other thread. So if for some strange reason I get a flood of people here, the first 10 to post here might not all get in. Sorry guys. Trying to give a few first dibs to the ones that expressed interest before-hand.

As I said in your other thread, I'd love to take part in this pass around. I'm not a paid member though, so I'll understand if you'd prefer to leave me out. No hard feelings either way.

I'm not usually fond of dymondwood, but that green is sweet:thumbup: What kind of steel?

Nice job, though:D Much, much nicer than my third knife!

Noshtero, I'd would like to give it a go if there are any spots to fill after the people who have dibs are in. Either way, good looking blade you have there. Looks like you really were paying attention when you went over to John's place!

I don't want in on this -- just wanted to comment that is a awesome looking blade for just starting out!

That`s a sweet looking knife, you did real good! Nice combination on the handles and liners.

IMO, it is visually quite impressive. Im not eligible for the passaround nor would I profess to know enough about knives to give you advice, but man, good job.

Well, I'm nowhere near eligible but that is one sweet looking knife. Congrats on being able to do such a great job on only your 3rd knife...Now be honest and tell us how many are in the "I'm not admitting I made that" pile. lol

I agree....... You done GOOD ! Tis certainly an addictive hobby eh.

I,m gonna post some knives real soon for my own passaround.

GOODLUCK with yours !!

Well, I had a horrible first experience with the last passaround, and had written them off all together, but this knife is just my style, so I'd be willing to give the passaround another shot.

Edited, actually I just realized that I may possibly be moving soon, and I"d hate to get it in the middle of that process, so I'll sit this one out. But man, that knife almost got me back into another passaround.

It looks great!

Wow, great job Noshtero. As others have said, very impressive for your third blade. Too bad I'm not up to 500 yet...

A great looking knife, Noshtero.
Good work.
I would like to be part of the passaround if there is space.

Thanks for the comments guys!

I forgot to mention up top about the steel. It's 01 steel. It's forge heat treated by your's truly.

I'm not looking to be part of the pass around, but just wanted to stop in and congratulate you on an awesome looking knife. I hope the pass around gives you the performance data you are looking for.

Good luck.

That's a very handsome blade

Hopefully I rack up another 300 posts by the time you present another.
