Hello.
I am just starting out making knives.
Today I roughed out a blade from memory. It was a knife I saw a few years ago, but do not remember where I saw it or what it is called.
So I am here to ask for help identifying the type, and style of blade. I also learned a valuable lesson at my forge. ALWAYS WEAR GLOVES!

Thank you all
Steve

No offense sir but that is about the most stereotypical "knife" shape ever. It will be hard to ID from just that pic.

No offense taken. It is the first knife I made in a forge. I will post an updated picture when it is done. I am starting to think the knife I am trying to copy from memory is a skinning knife.

Welcome. It would appear so. Google "sharpfinger" The Shrade Sharpfinger was VERY popular, is a skinning knife, and bears a resemblance to what you have made.

The first thing I thought of when I saw your knife was a Sharpfinger. They're great little knives, and have been duplicated by many a maker. Congratulations on taking the first step. Please keep us updated on your progress.
